It can typically be rather chilly on the early morning game drives, so you’ll want to wear lots of layers and remove them as the morning sun gets warmer.

Your evening game drive starts when the warm sun is still up but expect the temperature to drop quickly — especially at sunset. Most evening game drives involve a couple of hours of exploring and end with sundowners and snacks (happy hour in the bush at sunset) before heading back to the lodge.

Southern Africa is a year-round destination. The best time of year to visit Inyati Game Lodge depends very much on your preferences. There is something wonderful about experiencing nature in different seasons and a magical sighting is possible at any time of year. Traditionally the dry winter months (April to October) are best for game viewing, due to the shorter grass, lack of foliage and the absence of water which forces the game to concentrate around the remaining sources of drinking water. Annual rainfall, usually in the form of short afternoon thunder showers that clear up within an hour, occur from December to March. Many species give birth to their young around the start of the rains, so the bush is alive with new-born animals
