COMMUNITY PROJECTS

Giving back to the local community is important for us at Inyati Game Lodge. There are so many areas in which the community needs assistance, we were not sure where to begin and so we decided to choose one particular project and try make a difference, even if it is in the smallest possible way.

Themba Hosi Disabled Centre is situated just outside of the Sabi Sand Reserve in an area called Justicia. The centre is a non-profit organisation that receives minimal funding from the local government and is therefore reliant on donations from organisations such as Inyati. Themba Hosi is home to 89 disabled children from the local community with either mental or physical disabilities including cerebral palsy. The centre is run by 3 very dedicated people, Maggie Makoloi, Andrew Makhubela and Tryphina Makhubela, who work tirelessly not only in providing for the children’s physical needs but also in trying to improve their quality of life by keeping them stimulated and teaching them new skills.

Inyati assists in a small way by providing monthly groceries to help ensure the children get adequate nourishment and by sourcing equipment they may need eg sewing machines, wheelchairs etc. We also encourage our guests to visit Themba Hosi, many of whom make generous donations, either monetary or by sending care packages of old clothing, books, crayons, toys etc. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed for their generous donations...
A special thank you to Mr Hartmut Selbach who recently donated a staggering R25 000 to Themba Hosi.
