Inyati Game Lodge is situated on 65,000 hectares in one of the world’s largest and most prestigious private conservation areas, the Sabi Sand Wildtuin, adjoining the renowned Kruger National Park. The perennial Sand River with its golden African sunshine and cool, shady hideaways runs through Inyati. At night, wildlife sounds fill the star-studded sky. Lions roar, jackals howl and hyenas laugh. African drums respond.
Inyati consists of eleven chalets. Each air-conditioned chalet features en-suite bathroom with twin hand basins, separate bath, shower and w.c. The lodge accommodates 25 guests in total.
Light cotton trousers, cotton shorts, light cotton shirts (long and short sleeved), comfortable walking shoes, sandals, shower-proof rain jacket / windbreaker, fleece, insect repellent, small torch, camera (telephoto lens recommended) and binoculars. For winter, pack an extra warm jacket, woollen hat, scarf and gloves.
A handy checklist for your safari:
– Anti-malaria prophylactics
– Comfortable sturdy ankle length thick-soled walking boots
– Binoculars, camera and accessories (remember spare batteries)
– Casual lightweight cotton, khaki or neutral coloured clothes for safari
– Fleece or sweater and a warm jacket for game drives or cool evenings
– Shorts and cotton T-shirts
– Swimming costume
– Wide brimmed hat
– Personal toiletries, sun barrier creams and lip creams
Suggested arrival time is after 12h00 with check-in from 13h00. Rooms must be vacated by 11h00 for the convenience of arriving guests. Late departure times can be arranged at the lodge, subject to availability of rooms.
Inyati’s superbly positioned guest sitting and dining areas overlook the Sand River. The verandah overlooks the riverine vegetation, which is the natural habitat of the elephant and hippo.
Other facilities available – the Warthog hollow bar, swimming pool, air- conditioned gym and walk-in wine cellar.
Inyati Game Lodge offers a fair to good WiFi connection, which will allow you to do most things online, barring heavy streaming.
Don’t expect to get any good coverage while actively out in the bush, going on game drives. But this is where you should really be focusing on “getting away” and enjoying your surroundings and magnificent wildlife!
Our traditional Shangaan boma is used on nights, (weather permitting) and is a truly memorable way to experience a safari evening under the African night sky. Enjoy fine cuisine and wines whilst seated around a warm crackling fire.
Wi-Fi,Internet and fax facilities are available for our guests in reception. Satellite TV is available in the lounge area.
Inyati is the ideal venue to host intimate wedding ceremonies, conferences and incentive group packages with teambuilding activities “big five” spotting, treasure hunts, bird watching programs, group game drives, game walks and star gazing. Tree Tops offers the opportunity for focused meetings yet provides the setting for complete relaxation at the end of the day. The conference center overlooks the Sand river and is situated approximately 2.8km from the lodge. We cater for smaller corporate workshops, merger and; acquisition meetings and other senior management meetings of a private nature.
A range of local and other African curios, crafts and fashionable bush wear can be found in our curio shop which is located at reception. Necessities such as adaptors, batteries and sunscreen are available for purchase.
Dangerous animal’s aside, the sun is one of the dangers in the bushveld that many people forget about – good quality sunglasses, sun hat and sun block are essential.
Malaria is endemic to the Mpumalanga region of the country including Sabi Sand Game Reserve and the Kruger National Park.
We are on the edge of the Malaria belt, thus although very uncommon, we are in a malaria area. We don’t believe that we have ever had a guest who contracted Malaria whilst at Sabi Sand Game Reserve.
Notwithstanding this, in the interests of your personal safety we recommend that precautions be taken. Please consult your physician for further information on the various anti-malarial prophylactics available.

These are some of the precautionary measures you can take to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes:
Use insect repellent on exposed skin. Lotions and spray options are available.
Spray your accommodation with an aerosol insecticide. The lodge does have aerosol available in the rooms as well as plug in repellents
Wear long-sleeved, light-coloured clothing, long trousers and socks.
We strongly recommend that all guests are the beneficiary of a travel insurance policy covering at least injury, death, medical costs, emergency evacuation, repatriation, loss or damage to personal belongings (due to theft or otherwise) and cancellation.

Meals can be enjoyed on the open patio area (verandah) overlooking the Sand River. A combination of traditional South African and international dishes are always on the menu.
Experience a traditional South African braai (barbeque) under a blanket of stars in the heart of the bushveld.
The crackling fire, friendly conversation and delicious food add to the excitement of hearing a lion’s roar in the distance.
A traditional African setting where unique delicacies are prepared on an open fire. Enjoy the friendly company of your ranger while being entertained with bushveld stories and experiences.
The rhythmic beat of a traditional African dance will entertain guests while aromas of food being prepared on the open fire fill the night sky.
